CrypticWallet - Password Manager for Mobile Devices
CrypticWallet is a free secure password managing program for
mobile devices (running
JAVA ME or Android).
It is useful to store passwords, PINs, card numbers, bank accounts, any
confidential information and sensitive data.
You need to remember only one master password to store securely on your mobile
any number of fully encrypted data, using the most secure encryption method
currently available.
CrypticWallet (CW) program family has three branches on the mobile side and
one on the desktop side.
Mobile side:
-
on Java ME platform: CWME - smaller and more compact, CWMEL - more
complex, with advanced graphical user interface
-
on Android platform: CWDROID
Desktop side:
-
CWPC - interacting with all mobile side versions, can be also used as a bridge
between them
General Description
-
CW uses strong AES encryption engine (developed by the
Legion of the Bouncy Castle ) with 256 bit key and secure random salt.
-
It is almost impossible to crack, because the master password is not
stored on the mobile phone. So if your mobile is stolen or lost, the database
cannot be decrypted.
However, if you forget your master password, you won't be able to get your data
back. Therefore, the master password should be stored in a secure place, apart
from your mobile.
-
Built in search function, filtered list developed by us, smart data stucture
and algorithms make quick data access possible.
-
Automatic logout after 9 minutes of inactivity, which is very useful in case
you forget your phone unattended while logged in.
-
An encrypted database can be backuped and restored via FileConnection API
(jsr75). You can use your desktop machine to view or modify your encrypted
database more comfortably by running
CWPC java desktop application.
-
Supports Bluetooth connection with CWPC java desktop application running
on your PC or laptop. You can view/edit/modify your database realtime in both
directions via this connection.
Detailed Description
-
CWME: It is being developed in JAVA ME (J2ME) - CLDC 1.1, MIDP
2.0, so it needs JAVA ME (J2ME) enabled device to run. It stores information
using a list of Title/Value pairs, both encrypted. The program needs only 112
KBytes on your device.
-
CWMEL: It has advanced user interface and uses eight
category templates: Generic, Email, Bank Account, Credit Card, Key, User Info,
Secret Note, Web Site. More templates will be developed on demand. It
supports touchscreen. It also needs JAVA ME - CLDC 1.1, MIDP 2.0 enabled
device to run. The program needs 294 KBytes on your device.
-
CWDROID: It has the same functionality as CWMEL, with
more advanced user interface. It is being developed in Android SDK 2.2, it
needs at least a 1.6 version enabled device to run. The program needs only 120
KBytes on your device.
-
CWPC : The desktop version is interacting with all
mobile side versions, it can be also used as a bridge between them. The backup
file can be directly edited on the mobile's memorycard or through
bluetooth connection. It has advanced search functions (by Title, Content,
All). CWPC provides additional security through Steganography, as another alternative
for storing an encrypted backup file. The already encrypted backup file can also
be hidden in a picture stored in an arbitrary place (among thousands of pictures).
It can also be used as standalone encrypted PIM (Personal
Information Manager). It is being developed
in the latest Java SDK, it runs on every operating system (in case the latest
JRE is installed). It is being tested on: Linux (Debian, Slitaz), W2k, WXP, W7, W8.
